If you have been around Home Sweet Harps long, you know I have shifted most of my content toward embroidery projects and patterns.

With an uptick in embroidery inquiries, I focused in on creating DIYs to share with you!

One of the biggest requests I received is video tutorials to go along with my patterns so you can stitch alongside me.

So after a few months of work (and a big learning curve), I have officially started the Home Sweet Harps YouTube channel!

Goals

There are a few goals for this channel:

  1. Teach basic embroidery stitches for friends who are just starting out and
  2. Include tutorial videos for each of my patterns.

What that means is, all of the embroidery projects I have shared in the past will soon be updated with video tutorials to accompany them!

Simple Stitches Series

I want to have a space on my channel where clients can refer back to when stitching if they need help with a specific stitch.

So I created the “Simple Stitches Series.” This is a series of 10 videos that teaches you everything from materials and threading your needle to basic embroidery stitches.

This series is 100% beginner friendly. Even if you haven’t touched an embroidery needle before, you can follow along with this series.

I give a very basic and inexpensive list of materials, and walk you step-by-step through 5 simple stitches you need to get you started on any of my beginner projects.

Materials:

First, let me share the materials I used in this video that will be helpful to you as you get started.

(And let me just say, all of these materials cost around $40, and all of these products will be used more than once!)
